Cloud nine; it’s where every bride is on her wedding day. That’s where the bride was when I shot the images you’ll see below. I had the honor of shooting Courtney and Jeff while second shooting their wedding for Mike Spirito of Michael David Photography. But on a less “wedding” note and a more serious note, I’d like to go into something that gave me concern as a wedding photographer. You see, I take my responsibility as a wedding photographer very seriously. Sure, I try to keep the mood leavened, put on a happy face and joke with the bride and groom to keep things upbeat, but I also respect the fact that they have entrusted me to archive a huge part of their family history. More important, I am recording moments of the very first chapter in the latest installment of their life. All well and good, and I

Here’s a quick post… I recently took some time with Brad Smith to do a wedding style shoot. We wandered all over, in fact, I don’t even think we were ever in Warwick so the title is wrong. That being said, we hit the beach an old industrial place, we were even under a bridge at one point. It was a blast, albeit chilly! Oh and I know there are a lot of pics here, but you’ve got to scroll down to the balloons!!!

I recently took a jaunt with photographers Brad Smith and Liss Flint into the woods with our lovely model Shannon. We were looking for fun pastoral shots, while practicing keeping things light in the lighting department. We did that, for the most part. Brad brought a sweetheart of an Elinchrome head with a saaaaaa-weeeeeeet softbox, and we popped some umbrellas as well. Anyhow, here are some of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

We try to do things a little differently here on Strawberry Road. That’s when the idea of themed, kick-a@#$ photography came to be! When your son or daughter is really into something, say dance, for instance, why would you get a portrait of them standing in front of a blue backdrop, with flat lighting that, oh by the way, is the same as every other kids’ pictures!? Get them into a cool environment, connect with them and shoot away is what I say! The images below are of “Miss C” we’ll call her. A teenage girl who seems to excel at many disciplines of dance. Her mom was cool enough to play ‘voice activated light stand’ and we created what I think are some VERY cool, edgy portraits that showcase not only Miss C’s personality, but her ability and I think a little bit of how she sees herself when

So another model shoot in North Providence. This time I went at it with the idea of shooting a movie poster. A lot of different light styles and punch up in Photoshop. The experience was great and we really pushed to not use the space the same way we did last time we shot at this location. So without further adieu, some pics for you…

We at Strawberry Road had decided long ago to try to be as carbon neutral a company as possible. In doing so, we had investigated the possibility of solar, geothermal, even hydrogen power to run our studios. It wasn’t until Jennie took a backpacking excursion through europe that culminated with tobagganing in the alps that she realized we could use tiny elephants on treadmills to power the studios. (She was taken by Hannibal’s story and well, way to think outside the box Jennie!) Anyhow, the tiny elephants have worked out very well for us. However, in true Jurassic park fashion, chaos theory has reared its ugly head and caused major issues for us here at Strawberry Road… In all seriousness, this is what we came up with for the ShootStyle photo assignment titled “the moment after.” Nobody ever said we were normal…
