Michelle, Brian and I got together at Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT on a surprisingly warm January day. They are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever worked with! I think you could put these two in front of any building and they would make it look that much better, even this beautiful mansion! We made our way around the grounds and got some really nice images. I think Michelle may have frozen her toes but I give her credit for sticking it out. Also, despite how difficult it is these days to find cool shoes, they had ‘em ;-) Thanks guys! I can’t wait for the wedding!

I recently had the pleasure of working with a beautiful young lady. She’s the daughter of one of my very best friends and his amazingly cool wife (whom I’m pleased to call a friend as well:) They asked if I would get some images of this precious little bundle and I was happy to oblige. That being said, I have a new found respect for those that shoot newborns and do it really well! Their little bundle of joy was hungry and tired, but she was kind enough to stick around and work with us until we got some nice images. Pay special attention to the last image. It’s my favorite from the day. There’s nothing quite like capturing such a genuine moment. Happy parents make for happy kids. Sure it was shot from the hip and a little out of focus but life isn’t always tack sharp. The

Every year fellow photographer Brad Smith and I head down to Mystic, Connecticut for the annual Mystic Seminars. The seminars are a symposium of photographers showing their work, sharing their business practices and letting us eek out whatever we as photographers can of the very talented lot of speakers. The down season for us New England photographers is a chance to collect our thoughts, shape our visions for the upcoming wedding season and well, prepare our taxes. But in an effort to keep our cameras from collecting too much dust or too many pictures of our kids, Brad and I make the effort to book a model to shoot before the seminars begin. This year, we found Nikki to work with us. We also invited Rhode Island photographer Robyn Ivy along for the shoot. Brad, Robyn and I took Nikki out to Avery Point for some style shooting then went

Audrey and Chris are a great couple! Very easy going, fun to work with and well, they threw a great wedding for me to photograph! The Golden Lamb Buttery was the setting and we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. The outdoor wedding was held in a field adjacent to the buttery and the skies held back the afternoon shower that passed through with plenty of time for nuptials and a receiving line. A brief shower passed leaving the skies full of tumultuous looking clouds that made for some really cool outdoor portraits. It was also my first experience working with Jamie from Eventfully Planned and that was a great experience as well! With live folk music filling the hall in the barn and dancing, great speeches and some really fun people, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Lisa and Brody are a 2012 wedding of mine at the Golden Lamb Buttery here in Brooklyn, CT. We met up at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT for their engagement shoot. If you’ve never been to the mansion, definitely take the time to go out and have a look. The grounds were the perfect place to shoot with a wide open lawn, rows of trees, gorgeous moss-covered stone walls, and a mansion that for all it’s grandeur, seems to nestle in perfectly with the surroundings. Lisa and Brody were a blast to work with. Once we got into a rhythm, we really got some great images.

I recently had the pleasure of shooting Audrey and James’ wedding at Acacia at Indian Meadows Country Club. We got rained in for the day but that didn’t hamper spirits! After shooting the couple getting ready in their respective rooms, we used the lobby of the hotel and got some very nice images of Audrey and her immediate family. Audrey was stunning in her subsequent outfit changes as the night rolled on. One thing that I loved about Audrey and James’ wedding was the “first look.” It’s an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. I’ve done a few weddings this year with first looks and while I can understand where a couple may not find it to be their cup of tea, those couples that go ahead with it, end up with some very nice images of a very intimate moment.
I met with Garifalia about shooting her and Marc’s wedding last year. As you may know, time flies and the 9/3 date flew upon us! We started the day in the hotel and everything was buzzing! Family everywhere, people in an out and just an all around great vibe. I had the pleasure of having Brad Smith along to shoot and we had a blast! Garifalia and Marc were a great couple to work with and really laid back. The atmosphere at Lily Lake was great too. Everything was in bloom and there was great color all over the place! Probably the best part of the evening for me was the dancing, especially when the extended family got into it too! Thanks guys for such a fun and memorable wedding to shoot!

Kylie and Rob were married at the Webb Deane Stevens Museum with a fantastic reception in the barn on the property. I started the day shooting Kylie’s getting ready pictures at the Silas W. Robbins House Bed and Breakfast. The day started off pretty mellow with some chit chat and photos. Everyone was calm and having a real nice time. The wedding ceremony was held beside the gardens at the museum and everything went really well. Kylie and Rob delivered a delightful toast of thanks and the food was fantastic. Then came the dancing. They danced every moment of the reception until it ended. And I don’t mean just dancing, I mean DANCING!!! The rafters of the barn had to have been swaying and as the beat drove on one could feel the floor flex with the rhythmic movement of the revelers. Non-stop, all night. Liss and I agreed when
