I recently had the pleasure of working with a beautiful young lady.  She’s the daughter of one of my very best friends and his amazingly cool wife (whom I’m pleased to call a friend as well:)  They asked if I would get some images of this precious little bundle and I was happy to oblige.   That being said, I have a new found respect for those that shoot newborns and do it really  well!  Their little bundle of joy was hungry and tired, but she was kind enough to stick around and work with us until we got some nice images.  Pay special attention to the last image.  It’s my favorite from the day.  There’s nothing quite like capturing such a genuine moment.  Happy parents make for happy kids.  Sure it was shot from the hip and a little out of focus but life isn’t always tack sharp.  The

Dana contacted me through ModelMayhem asking if I wanted to make some images with her for her portfolio.  We met up at a local park for what turned out to be a pretty quick photo session!  Temperatures were falling fast and sunset this time of year lasts all of 15 minutes.  But we made the best of it and we were both pleased with the results!                

We try to do things a little differently here on Strawberry Road.  That’s when the idea of themed, kick-a@#$ photography came to be!  When your son or daughter is really into something, say dance, for instance, why would you get a portrait of them standing in front of a blue backdrop, with flat lighting that, oh by the way, is the same as every other kids’ pictures!?  Get them into a cool environment, connect with them and shoot away is what I say!
