Michelle, Brian and I got together at Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT on a surprisingly warm January day. They are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever worked with! I think you could put these two in front of any building and they would make it look that much better, even this beautiful mansion! We made our way around the grounds and got some really nice images. I think Michelle may have frozen her toes but I give her credit for sticking it out. Also, despite how difficult it is these days to find cool shoes, they had ‘em ;-) Thanks guys! I can’t wait for the wedding!

I recently had the pleasure of working with a beautiful young lady. She’s the daughter of one of my very best friends and his amazingly cool wife (whom I’m pleased to call a friend as well:) They asked if I would get some images of this precious little bundle and I was happy to oblige. That being said, I have a new found respect for those that shoot newborns and do it really well! Their little bundle of joy was hungry and tired, but she was kind enough to stick around and work with us until we got some nice images. Pay special attention to the last image. It’s my favorite from the day. There’s nothing quite like capturing such a genuine moment. Happy parents make for happy kids. Sure it was shot from the hip and a little out of focus but life isn’t always tack sharp. The

Every year fellow photographer Brad Smith and I head down to Mystic, Connecticut for the annual Mystic Seminars. The seminars are a symposium of photographers showing their work, sharing their business practices and letting us eek out whatever we as photographers can of the very talented lot of speakers. The down season for us New England photographers is a chance to collect our thoughts, shape our visions for the upcoming wedding season and well, prepare our taxes. But in an effort to keep our cameras from collecting too much dust or too many pictures of our kids, Brad and I make the effort to book a model to shoot before the seminars begin. This year, we found Nikki to work with us. We also invited Rhode Island photographer Robyn Ivy along for the shoot. Brad, Robyn and I took Nikki out to Avery Point for some style shooting then went

Audrey and Chris are a great couple! Very easy going, fun to work with and well, they threw a great wedding for me to photograph! The Golden Lamb Buttery was the setting and we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. The outdoor wedding was held in a field adjacent to the buttery and the skies held back the afternoon shower that passed through with plenty of time for nuptials and a receiving line. A brief shower passed leaving the skies full of tumultuous looking clouds that made for some really cool outdoor portraits. It was also my first experience working with Jamie from Eventfully Planned and that was a great experience as well! With live folk music filling the hall in the barn and dancing, great speeches and some really fun people, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

When Jennie of Lilbludrgaonfly and I rolled out Strawberry Road Creative a few years ago, we had envisioned doing wedding photography for fun people in amazing venues and most of all, our goal was to work for people we connected with. A little over a year ago we skyped our first meeting with Caroline and Jessica. The connection was almost instantaneous. What would generally be a 30 to 40 minute meeting rolled on and on and we had a blast. Fast forward to a fantastic engagement shoot and forward still to their wedding. An amazing event of commitment, emotion, love and joy. But one undertone I couldn’t shake was that of accomplishment. I don’t think that word was uttered all night, but it was there. These two women were truly happy and proud to be standing in front of their family and friends and proclaim their love. And in a

I had the pleasure of meeting with Lauren and David for the first time since our initial meeting. It was a rooftop garden engagement shoot! Located atop a parking garage in Cambridge, MA, this elegant garden is a haven of tranquility above the hustle and bustle of the city below. The soon-to-be-wed couple hold this place as significant (not for me to tell why!) and requested their engagement shoot be here amidst the perfectly manicured flora. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who likes a nice quiet spot to reflect, read a paper or just get away for a bit!

Cloud nine; it’s where every bride is on her wedding day. That’s where the bride was when I shot the images you’ll see below. I had the honor of shooting Courtney and Jeff while second shooting their wedding for Mike Spirito of Michael David Photography. But on a less “wedding” note and a more serious note, I’d like to go into something that gave me concern as a wedding photographer. You see, I take my responsibility as a wedding photographer very seriously. Sure, I try to keep the mood leavened, put on a happy face and joke with the bride and groom to keep things upbeat, but I also respect the fact that they have entrusted me to archive a huge part of their family history. More important, I am recording moments of the very first chapter in the latest installment of their life. All well and good, and I
