Kylie and Rob were married at the Webb Deane Stevens Museum with a fantastic reception in the barn on the property. I started the day shooting Kylie’s getting ready pictures at the Silas W. Robbins House Bed and Breakfast. The day started off pretty mellow with some chit chat and photos. Everyone was calm and having a real nice time. The wedding ceremony was held beside the gardens at the museum and everything went really well. Kylie and Rob delivered a delightful toast of thanks and the food was fantastic. Then came the dancing. They danced every moment of the reception until it ended. And I don’t mean just dancing, I mean DANCING!!! The rafters of the barn had to have been swaying and as the beat drove on one could feel the floor flex with the rhythmic movement of the revelers. Non-stop, all night. Liss and I agreed when

Cloud nine; it’s where every bride is on her wedding day. That’s where the bride was when I shot the images you’ll see below. I had the honor of shooting Courtney and Jeff while second shooting their wedding for Mike Spirito of Michael David Photography. But on a less “wedding” note and a more serious note, I’d like to go into something that gave me concern as a wedding photographer. You see, I take my responsibility as a wedding photographer very seriously. Sure, I try to keep the mood leavened, put on a happy face and joke with the bride and groom to keep things upbeat, but I also respect the fact that they have entrusted me to archive a huge part of their family history. More important, I am recording moments of the very first chapter in the latest installment of their life. All well and good, and I

The wedding album. Formerly a staid tradition that was generally accepted as one of the ‘must have’ details of a wedding. After all, what does a bride have that’s tangible after the wedding is over? A dress, rings, maybe a slice of her cake and hopefully…an album. The reason I bring this up is that our daughter recently stumbled across our album in the bookcase. An ancient looking tome, it’s full of the staple photography of the late 90′s. As we flipped through it with our daughter, my wife and I realized something sort of profound. As she asked us over and over “who’s that,” we realized that there were different people that were around in our life back then. Sure some of them are now simply facebook friends, some we see at rare get-togethers and others are still regulars in our day to day life. They were part of

I had the pleasure of meeting Eileen and Ryan at the Penfield Pavilion on the beach in Fairfield, CT. We did their mini-engagement shoot in the fading evening sun while getting to know one another before their big day in November. A more laid back pair you’ll never meet! I look forward to a really nice wedding day with a bride and groom that are there to get married, relax with friends and family and have some fun!

So this is our engagement shoot with Jen and Kevin. I can’t express how much fun they were to work with as a couple! We had a blast at Ocean Beach park in New London, CT. Kevin was a little leery about being the subject of ALL the images, but I impressed upon him that it’s really Jen who was the main attraction. With this information, he relaxed and we got a ton of pictures of him relaxed and having fun :) Our original shoot ideas had fallen through, there was going to be a Harley Davidson, possible vehicular infractions and straight up craziness! But they were so “go with the flow” that it was just a breeze of a shoot. They were even open to trying a “different” type of engagement image (ring light!). Enjoy the images. Oh, and I think they’re Red Sox fans… If anybody is keeping

I recently took a jaunt with photographers Brad Smith and Liss Flint into the woods with our lovely model Shannon. We were looking for fun pastoral shots, while practicing keeping things light in the lighting department. We did that, for the most part. Brad brought a sweetheart of an Elinchrome head with a saaaaaa-weeeeeeet softbox, and we popped some umbrellas as well. Anyhow, here are some of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!
