michelle and brian st. clemens castle, portland, ct

i tell all my brides and grooms just how valuable an engagement session is with regard to a successful set of wedding day images.  when michelle, brian and i met for their e-shoot at wadsworth mansion in middletown, ct, michelle was a ball of nerves throughout the shoot!  i was so nervous for her on her wedding day!!!  while waiting for her to arrive at st. clemens castle i received a phone call from her that the girls were running late due to hair and make-up.  what surprised me most was how composed she sounded in the face of this adversity!  she was going with the flow and was cool with it! (good for you michelle!)

when she finally rolled into the parking lot with her bridesmaids, she got out of the car and was all smiles and no nerves!  it was a joy to shoot their wedding if even for one reason: i don't think there was a moment throughout the day where michelle wasn't smiling and happy, even if the flowers showed up reeeeeaaaaalllly late!  best wishes to you two and i'm so happy the rain stayed away for your big day!

when you're looking at the images, keep in mind the happy couple opted for a 'first look.'  its a great opportunity for some quiet time for the bride and groom before the ceremony.   it really does give a nice opportunity for great pictures :)

ps ~ this is my first bride with an all broach bouquet!  I've had brides with broaches amidst their bouquet, but never and all broacher!  it really was quite spectacular (and heavy ;)

a final ps :) there's a great shot in the gallery of the fantastic lighting team i enlisted for some after hours shooting!
